Iveta Calite is a latvian pianist, born in Riga. After obtaining her primary musical education in Latvia, Iveta moved to Paris to study at Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot under the guidance of Jean Marc Luisada. Since 2012 she was studying at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Stefan Bojsten and since 2016 with both Stefan Bojsten and Mats Widlund. In 2016 she obtained a Master’s degree in piano performance and chamber music and in 2017 a soloist diploma.
Iveta is regularly giving recitals in Sweden and abroad including festivals such as Stockholm Piano Festival, Aurora Music Festival, “Young Latvian chamber musicians-Saulkrasti” and “Svensk musikvår”. She is a devoted chamber musician and recently has played many concerts with the Young Latvian Chamber musicians in the biggest Latvian concert halls and recorded D.Shostakovich’s piano quintet for the Latvian Radio. She is also part of an ensemble “Duo Meraki” together with a Norwegian violinist Helena Maria Falk Botolfsen with whom she has toured both in Norway and Sweden as well as become a part of the young musician association “Musethica”. Recent activities also include a collaboration with a Swedish string quartet KVARTS.
In November 2015 Iveta performed W.A.Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.12 in A Major with the KMH String orchestra, conductor Ola Karlsson(solo cellist of the Swedish Radio orchestra). In April 2016 she performed M.Ravel G major Piano concerto with Daniel Blendulf and KMH symphony orchestra. Iveta is Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Swedish Royal Academy’s and Nordic Free-Masons stipendiary.
Future projects include all-Ravel concert series and recordings of the piano repertoire by Maurice Ravel.
